UK Program Update #2

As the UK Affiliate program is being prepared to go ‘live’, we want to announce the introductory Ancestry.co.uk commission structure as the following:

25% on ALL Net Sales up to £500.00
30% on ALL Net Sales up to £1,000.00 once you exceed £500.00
35% on ALL Net Sales up to £2,500.00 once you exceed £1,000.00
45% on ALL Net Sales up to £5,000.00 once you exceed £2,500.00
50% on ALL Net Sales once you exceed £5,000.00

The above commissions are offered as a special incentive for up to 3 months after the launch date of the new program. After that point, the normal commission structure will be as follows:

15% on ALL Net Sales up to £500.00
20% on ALL Net Sales up to £1,000.00 once you exceed £500.00
25% on ALL Net Sales up to £2,500.00 once you exceed £1,000.00
30% on ALL Net Sales up to £5,000.00 once you exceed £2,500.00
35% on ALL Net Sales once you exceed £5,000.00

Don’t forget, although the US and UK Ancestry programs will be similarly structured; in practice they will be completely separate. We will be unable track or credit UK sales through the US program soon after the launch of the UK program. Therefore, all Ancestry.co.uk links will need to be transitioned to the new program in order to benefit from the UK commission structure.

When its available, you will need to apply for the new program by logging into www.cj.com, the CJ interface (not through Reporting.net) in order to access the new links. We will send a direct link to the application as soon as it is available.

As an added bonus for promoting both the Ancestry.com and Ancestry.co.uk sites together, the Ancestry.com program will also be running a special commission incentive. Watch your inbox for further details.

Ancestry.com New Content Blog

As you know, the content housed at Ancestry.com is updated and increased daily. Well, we wanted to create an easy way for our affiliates to find out what the newest news is, so we've created the Ancestry.com New Content Blog. There is now a permanent link on the sidebar, but I definitely recommend bookmarking this one!

New Content Centers on Ancestry.com

You can now point to Ancestry.com's new Content Centers using affiliate links. These are educational pages that aim to inform the user on how to use genealogical records and other resources to build their family history. And they are really wonderful conversion tools! Just place these as hyperlink references on your site, but remember to change out the '5555555' to your site id!

Answering questions about the UK announcement

Question:
What will happen with our existing links to UK subs sold on the USA Ancestry.com pages? Will there still be USA Ancestry site selling UK subs to North Americans in US dollars?

Answer:
Ancestry.com will still be selling UKI subscriptions, but it's those who are promoting the site Ancestry.co.uk (there are just a few links for these on Reporting.net) that will need to be in both programs.

Question:

How will this effect our tier structure? If you split out the programs, I may have had combined sales to reach a tier, but not if they are separate.

Answer:
There will be an incentive for a certain duration to be a part of both programs, if you are promoting Ancestry.co.uk, which will offset the potential negative intial effect on the tier structure of splitting the programs.

Ancestry.co.uk Affiliate Program

The Myfamily.com Affiliate Network is growing! As a result of the phenomenal success our affiliate program has experienced, we are introducing a revised affiliate program for our United Kingdom site, Ancestry.co.uk. The new UK affiliate program will be in full operation within the next few weeks.

Although the two programs will be similarly structured, in practice they will be completely separate. The UK office handles only matters concerning the Ancestry.co.uk affiliate program and the US office will handle only Ancestry.com affiliate matters. Consequently, commission payments will be sent separately. Therefore current affiliates who use Ancestry.co.uk links will need to reapply directly for the Ancestry.co.uk affiliate program. The UK program will utilize Commission Junction for tracking, reporting, and payment.

One week after the program’s launch, all Ancestry.co.uk links found in the Ancestry.com affiliate interface, Reporting.net, will be removed from view and we will begin to contact you directly regarding your promotion of the UK site. Please note that all UK sales will need to be transitioned to the new program as soon as possible. We will not track or credit UK sales through the US program soon after the launch of the UK program. We will provide a link to apply to the new program once it is live.

UK Office - Paul Lewis (plewis@myfamilyinc.com)
US Office - Crystal Clayton (cclayton@myfamilyinc.com)

As the launch date comes closer, we will continue to update you on this new program, policy changes, and special promotions.
