New Promotional Tier Qualification Rules

Because of the tracking issue we had of late with the Ancestry.co.uk links, we've ammended our official rules on how to qualify for the Ancestry.com promotional tier:

Special Ancestry.com Commission Structure Rules:

  1. Affiliate must be both an Ancestry.com and Ancestry.co.uk affiliate.
  2. Affiliate must acquire a minimum of 100 Ancestry.co.uk qualified clicks between program launch and the eligibility dates.
  3. The first day of eligibility is August 4 and the last day is August 7.
  4. Affiliate must email us (affiliate@ancestry.com) to be considered eligible for this incentive.
  5. Affiliate team will determine eligibility individually per affiliate based on qualification of traffic. Their decision is final.
  6. This promotional commission structure is applicable to qualified affiliates beginning the day after their eligibility (see 2, 3) to September 30, 2005.
  7. After receiving the first 100 clicks, affiliates will be monitored to ensure that they remain active in the Ancestry.co.uk affiliate program. Affiliate must remain active in order to receive the promotional commission until September 30.
  8. It is the responsibility of the affiliate to read and understand the rules regarding this incentive. Please email us at affiliate@ancestry.com with ANY questions you may have.

IMPORTANT: UK Program Tracking Issue

I just got word from Paul Lewis, the UK affiliate manager, that the tracking is screwed up on the CJ side and the Ancestry.co.uk links are currently not dropping a cookie. Because of this, they've decided to take the program off out of "Live" status and work out the technicalities. The program will be off-line at the MOST, till Wednesday, July 27.

Consequently:

- The deadline of August 4 to get 100 clicks will be moved back the same number of days that the program is offline. (However, we will still start the A.com special commission rate on August 5, if you have hit the goal by that time.)

- The deadline of July 28 to switch A.co.uk links from BeFree to CJ will be moved back the same number of days that the program is offline.

- If you choose to leave your already-changed links up (which I actually recommend), the user experience will not be damaged, and the traffic to that link will be tracked. However, any actual sales will not show until this issue is remedied.

- Affiliates who have not yet applied to the Ancestry.co.uk program will not be able to apply until it is re-instated as live. Affiliates who are already in the Ancestry.co.uk program will still have access to create and implement links.

The good news is this: Commission Junction has a tool called Down Tracking Rebuild, which estimates the sales each affiliate should have had during a down-time based on historical numbers (in our case, historical BeFree numbers) and adds that amount as a bonus to your voucher. We will be using this tool once sales tracking is back up.

The UK Affiliate Program is Now LIVE!

This is the 3rd update regarding the launch of the Ancestry.co.uk Affiliate Program.

In order to become an UK affiliate, you will need to become a member of Commission Junction (an affiliate network management tool). You can sign up directly by clicking on the link here:

https://signup.cj.com/member/brandedPublisherSignUp.do?
air_refmerchantid=1569747

If you are already a member of Commission Junction then please log in to your account at www.cj.com (select ‘CJ Account Manager”) and join the Ancestry.co.uk program in the “Family Entertainment” category.

By joining TODAY you will receive the introductory Ancestry.co.uk commission structure of:

25% on ALL Net Sales up to £500.00
30% on ALL Net Sales up to £1,000.00 once you exceed £500.00
35% on ALL Net Sales up to £2,500.00 once you exceed £1,000.00
45% on ALL Net Sales up to £5,000.00 once you exceed £2,500.00
50% on ALL Net Sales once you exceed £5,000.00

The above commissions are offered as a special incentive until September 30, 2005. After that point, the normal commission structure will be as follows:

15% on ALL Net Sales up to £500.00
20% on ALL Net Sales up to £1,000.00 once you exceed £500.00
25% on ALL Net Sales up to £2,500.00 once you exceed £1,000.00
30% on ALL Net Sales up to £5,000.00 once you exceed £2,500.00
35% on ALL Net Sales once you exceed £5,000.00

Don’t forget, although the US and UK Ancestry programs will be similarly structured; in practice they will be completely separate. We will be unable track or credit UK sales through the US program soon after the launch of the UK program. Therefore, all Ancestry.co.uk links will need to be transitioned to the new program by July 28, 2005 in order to benefit from the UK commission structure. Note that links promoting the UKI subscription sold through the Ancestry.com site do not need to be transitioned.

As an additional incentive, if you join the Ancestry.co.uk program and generate at least 100 QUALIFIED clicks by August 4, you will be eligible to have your US commission tier mirror the UK promotional tier!

25% on ALL Net Sales up to $1,000.00
30% on ALL Net Sales up to $2,500.00 once you exceed $1,000.00
35% on ALL Net Sales up to $5,000.00 once you exceed $2,500.00
45% on ALL Net Sales up to $10,000.00 once you exceed $5,000.00
50% on ALL Net Sales once you exceed $10,000.00

To qualify for this incentive, you MUST contact the Ancestry.com affiliate team after receiving 100 Ancestry.co.uk clicks. Please email each URL where the links are placed to affiliate@ancestry.com. Upon receiving your email, you will be given further details regarding how to retain the special Ancestry.com commission structure thru September 30, 2005.

Best regards,

MyFamily.com Subscription Ads Now Available

We've added affiliate tracking to the MyFamily.com subscriptions, and have provided new ads on Reporting.net (under Create Links>MyFamily.com Ads). If you have any traffic or pages that you think would be interested in personalized, private family websites or would like to create some new affiliate sites, you may want to give some of these links a go. And as an FYI, there are are only 2 price points (a low and a high) and they are only annual subscriptions. Both options are made available to the user on the sign-up page.
